On June 29, 2020, The Border Guard Day was solemnly celebrated in Vilnius, which this year coincided with the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the State Border Guard Service of Lithuania.

On that occasion, an exposition introducing the border guard profession was organized in Vilnius, in the Cathedral Square near the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, in which the team of the Nuclear Security Centre of Excellence (NSCOE) also participated, presenting the centre’s activities and equipment to the public.

The NSCOE since the establishment of the centre in 2012 operates within the SBGS, Border Control Management Board and is responsible for specialized officials training, development of radiation control equipment at the border.

On the occasion of the celebration, St. mass was also sacrificed at the Vilnius Archcathedral Basilica for the employees of the State Border Guard Service (SBGS), later a festive event was held in the courtyard of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, during which awards were presented to distinguished officials, the festive program was performed by the representative wind orchestra of the Ministry of the Interior and singer Loreta Sungailiene.
