On January 9-11 the representative of the Nuclear Security Center of Excellence attended a Consultancy Meeting on the Task Force for Development of NSSC Network Information Management Tools that was held at International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria. The general goal for the Task Force was to identify the ways and options for further development of the NSSC Network, especially facilitation of the NSSC members regional cooperation and joint activities.

The IAEA Network of Nuclear Security Support Centers (NSSC Network) consists of specialized training institutions / units in 60 countries that, in line with the concept developed by the IAEA, provide professional nuclear security training, as well as technical and scientific support to the competent authorities in their countries and/or regions. The Lithuanian Nuclear Security Centre of Excellence has been a member of the NSSC network since 2012.

The main objectives of the Task Force on the NSSC Network Information Management Tools were in support of the Network Terms of References and newly developed Technical guidance TECDOC 1734 to improve information sharing among NSSC Network Members as well as review and identify necessary enhancements for NSSC Network Database, NSSC Common Calendar and Semi-annual Newsletter.

The detailed report on the Task Force proposed Information Management Tools enhancement will be presented at the annual conference of the NSSC network, which will take place in March 18-22, 2019 in Beijing, China.
